AUCHAN IS LAUNCHING THE FIRST SIMPLY MART IN NORTHERN OF VIETNAM

France’s leading retail group – Auchan – on November 3^rd has officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Military Petrochemical JSC (MIPEC).

Together, Auchan has signed lease contract with Long Bien Commercial Center, which was invested by MIPEC to implement retail supermarket chains named “Simply Mart” in the northern market.

This event has marked a turning point of Auchan in Vietnam market after the implementation of Simply Mart in Ho Chi Minh City last year.

With the signing of this cooperation agreement, the famous and friendly Simply Mart supermarket chain will officially available in Hanoi.

According to information from MIPEC, with the slogan “fresh – cheap – friendly”, a new supermarket with an area of 3,700 m2 in MIPEC Long Bien Commercial Center will become a convenient shopping place for all families.

This supermarket will supply 1,000 to 4,500 kinds of household products to consumers, not only bringing outstanding benefits for residents living in MIPEC’s real estate projects, but also contributing to create jobs for local people.

As planned, the first Simply Mart in Nothern of Vietnam will be launched in the coming year. Then, Auchan will continue to expand and strive till 2020 they would cover the Northern with 20 supermarkets.

Auchan Group had announced plan to invest 500 million USD to develop its supermarket chain in Vietnam.

Founded in 1960 in France and officially presented on international markets from 1980, up to date, the Group owns 888 hypermarkets, 862 supermarkets and 370 commercial centers throughout the world.

In Vietnam, Auchan has launched the Simply Mart chain in 2014 with manifesto “the friendly shopping place where we find all with cheap price for the whole family”.
